Demon in the wood – Leigh Bardugo

Book review

Read: November 22, 2015

A very, very short story about an event that happened in the Darkling’s life when he was just a child who hadn’t mastered the cut. It gives you the insight what one of the reasons was in his long life to fight for what he believes in and why he is so mysterious/quiet. It shows a little bit of his relationship with his mother in these times and how he had to save himself from other Grisha who want to murder him because of his amplifier power.

My opinion

This is the only novella from the Grisha series that is directly connected with the characters in Grisha. Because of this, my feeling towards this novella is less than with the others. What I did really like was the relationship the Darkling has with his mother and why he became what he has become.
